Survival, Prepping, & Homesteading Experts

Write For Us

Want to share your survival, preparedness, or homesteading expertise with the world?

Are you a writer or blogger? We are now accepting articles in the Survival, Prepping, and Homesteading niches and we are looking for writers who have knowledge about the subjects our readers are interested in.

Current Opportunities

We’re looking for good bloggers and writers with knowledge about our subjects, survival experts, experienced outdoorsmen, ex-military/special forces, and seasoned preppers who can provide 100% quality content that can pass Copyscape and Plagiarism Checker in these Survival, Prepping, and Homesteading niche topics:

  • How-to & DIY
  • Survival Guides
  • Tips & Tricks
  • Homesteading (i.e. livestock, gardening, solar power, etc – not crafts)
  • Self-Sufficiency
  • Bushcraft
  • Urban Survival
  • Wilderness Survival
  • Numbered (i.e. top 5, 100 best, etc)
  • Life Experience Pieces
  • Special Projects (emailed to active authors when they come up)

Note that we do not accept any articles that feature or mention conspiracy, new age, political, religious, racial, or hate speech subjects.

DoFollow Links

We give back to our authors. Not only do you get exposure and traffic, but you also receive a valuable dofollow backlink to your website.

Your articles can contain backlinks to your website, and they will be marked as rel=”dofollow”. We’re very careful with our links to preserve their value and only published authors and a tiny handful of certain approved websites get dofollow links from us.

Basic Guidelines

We’re looking for articles and posts that are fun and easy to read, engage the reader, entertain them, and provide useful information. Here are a few quick guidelines to consider:

  • Provide specific content on one of the topics listed above
  • Stay on topic
  • Use royalty free images (at least one header image, but more is better)
  • Write a minimum of 500 words (1,000+ is much better, there’s no maximum)
  • Write original content that passes Copyscape & Plagiarism Checker
  • Write in grammatically correct English

Do Not’s

  • Cannot be published on any other website
  • Cannot be overly self promotional
  • Cannot contain any affiliate links, redirect links, or links to untrusted sites
  • Cannot be a product review
  • Cannot be written just to promote a product or website

BONUS: If you want to learn how to write ridiculously great content for any website, we created a resource called Writing Best Practices that can be applied to any website, not just our own.

It includes best practices, tools, and links to resources and further reading from the best experts on content writing.

The goal was to make anyone, first timer or a seasoned pro, a better writer for the web as a whole and not just a better guest poster for BeSurvival.

Writers can provide the images for their articles, and we prefer it that way too, but if you can’t find any images we can find them for you.

Make sure that any images you provide are yours, or are royalty free, or you have the rights to use them on

If you don’t include any images we will add a header image. Articles need at least one header image (ideally 687×387) to be published because it is used at the slider, thumbnail, and featured image for social sharing.

Using more than one image is highly encouraged because it increases social shares significantly, especially if you include a Pinterest specific image (ideally 735×1100+).

Article Spinners

All articles submitted must be written by a native English speaking person using proper grammar.

It’s fine to find inspiration in other sources that you have permission to use, but you must re/write your own unique version without using a low quality article spinner and it must pass CopyScape and Plagiarism Checker.

We check every article, no exceptions. If you fail CopyScape and Plagiarism Checker, or if your article reads like a spinner bot wrote it, or if the grammar doesn’t meet common standards, you will have to correct the article before it will be published. If you consistently fail to pass, eventually you will not be allowed to submit any more articles.

Author Accounts

After your second article we will usually offer you a chance to submit more articles in the future through an author account. You will be able to submit new articles and comment to other users under your author name.

You will also get an author page and an author byline box on all your posts. These include a dofollow link to your website, an avatar/picture, and a bio description, and any articles you wrote previously will be credited to your new account when it is created.

If you read our guide, Writing Best Practices, and check out our Sample Post, and check out a few articles that we have already published, you will have a very good idea of exactly what we’re looking for.

If you need to ask any questions before you start, or if you just want to know if we’ll like your article idea, simply email us beforehand and we’ll let you know.

When you’re article is ready, email it to us and attach any images to the email. We will format and publish it for you.

Make sure to include some verbiage stating that you have permission to use the content and images, and that we can use them too.

Here’s some sample verbiage that you can include in the email: “I own copyright to this article and images and/or these images are royalty free. I give permission to use them.”

We really prefer for writers to submit their articles in Word, WordPad, or Writer instead of copypasting text in the email itself, this makes formatting much easier.

Please note that articles that are just a big ol’ block of text with no paragraphs may not be accepted.
